Actually, we’re going to try a bunch of baby Cthulus – Cornish hens with little octopi and crab legs.

First suggestion: Cockroach platters! Stuffed with cream cheese and chopped nuts. Dipping them partly in chocolate helps complete the look. These roaches use pecans as little wings. (We have fake roaches to add in between if anyone wants to try these.)

While some of us can’t have food dyes, they are not forbidden in potluck. Bat wings – dye the sauce black, and carefully stretch the chicken wings out. Apparently, you can get naturally black gourmet pasta, made with squid ink or black bean. Green is also effective: Toxic Waste Mac & Cheese  

  Pretty much any chunky & gooey food would work for this. Doesn’t have to be dip. Could be stew or maybe cooked spaghetti squash.

Sugar glass slides Surely, one of us has boxes for slides to display these in. (Or ebay) I don’t know if you could make sugar glass thin enough for cover slips. This will leave you with lots of spare shards of sugar glass, which should go into another creation.
